This Privacy Policy explains what information Sweetlytics ("we," "us," "our") collects when you use our service, how we use it, and who we share it with. We've written this to be straightforward — if something is unclear, reach out at hello@sweetlytics.com.
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider (Clerk). We also ask for your ZIP or postal code during onboarding to provide local market pricing estimates.
When you use the pricing calculator, you submit recipe text (ingredients and quantities). This text is sent to Anthropic's API to parse ingredients and estimate costs. We store your recipe inputs and the resulting calculation in our database to power your history and recalculation features.
If you use the photo calculator, you may upload photos of your baked goods. These images are sent to Anthropic's API for visual analysis and are not stored on our servers after processing. Do not upload photos containing sensitive personal information.
We store your calculation results — including ingredient costs, labor estimates, pricing recommendations, and profit margins — in our database. This data powers your calculation history, Pricing Hub, and monthly insights features.
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your Pro access.
If you use or share a referral code, we store the association between referring and referred accounts to apply the appropriate bonuses.
We track usage counts (number of calculations run) to enforce free tier limits and Pro monthly caps. We do not use third-party analytics platforms to track your behavior across the web.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.
We use the following third-party providers. Each has their own privacy policy that governs how they handle data we share with them:
Clerk — Authentication
Handles sign-up, login, and session management. Stores your name, email, and authentication credentials. Clerk Privacy Policy
Anthropic — AI Processing

Stripe — Payments

Resend — Email Delivery
Delivers transactional emails (welcome, notifications, monthly insights). Your email address is shared with Resend solely to deliver these messages. Resend Privacy Policy
We retain your account data and calculation history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your personal information and calculation history from our database. Some information may be retained in backups for a short period before being purged.

We use cookies and local storage only for session management (keeping you logged in) via Clerk. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics.
Sweetlytics is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
